I bought this laptop last December 13 as Christmas gift for my 11 years. Ran about an hour before the event start freezing and rebooting. I spent a week trying to "fix", updated the BIOS, Windows 7 upgrades, patches, etc.
Trying to "support" Acer is a nightmare. But do not refer to "repair" by the way if you want to keep the original package does not use it for shipment.
After repair (replacing the memory), is back again rebooted and / or cold … even when sitting quietly at the prom.
I blame you for buying the Acer, I took a risk that I have a working system … and lost. As a computer engineer with over 20 years of experience, I find it incredible that this company continues to do business … must have the support of the worst known to man.
After the repair I could not Google a phone number and spoke to a man live to request a replacement. I was told that aERC policy is not to replace the item for any reason.

Update (June 2010)
After sending back (again), and erratic behavior to continue, it was too much. He was still acting, and my daughter 12 years-down "… Now the screen is accidentally broken. Can not say that much of a loss … well, except for money.
