I've been on the market for a laptop for about a year. I spent much time studying the characteristics and review of comments on the line from many sources. HP laptops have never been very high on my list until I came across the DV4-2173nr. I checked several sources and this model has mostly good reviews. Spec wise than met my minimum requirements. Price wise it was good in what I was expecting to pay and included a $ 75 Amazon gift card, which has really done a good deal.
I received the shipment within 48 hours (Amazon is not great). I opened the package and DV4 was really pleasing to the eye, a sleek looking machine with many features and very well packaged. I could not wait to turn, but alas, no show. Only 2 "on top of the screen is displayed. I spent an hour on the phone with HP support. The poor girl really tried, but bless her heart, could not speak or understand English well enough to discern what the Top 2 "Werand on the screen.
The DV4-2173nr is a beautiful machine with a lot of specifications and prices are very competitive. Unfortunately, I can only give a star since arriving DOA. Thank God, I bought on Amazon. Have a return policy just and reasonable at least if I get a refund and shopping all over again. Currently, HP has been moved to the lower end of my list again!
I really think you could buy this machine and be very satisfied. At least in my mind, reliability and the quality is somewhat suspect.
